Artist Statement

Inspired by the desire to discover the mystery behind the beauty of woman and most importantly by the freedom of expression .

I explore classical female nude painting of the nineteenth-century with vision of today's contemporary arts. Exploring works of  French contemporary artist like Pierre Bonnard  using chiaroscuro of Rembrandt and Jan Vermeer. I wanted to pour all of my energy into the greatest challenge a painter can face. There is nothing more difficult to paint than a figure clearly and simply, with beauty and strength, to paint human instead of model, to paint anatomical forms that feel alive, to paint a head that feels like it is full of thoughts, to share my passion for female nude painting .To paint with the skills of past masters while still alive, and to jump into the world of the great figure painters of times past.

I have choosing to integrate into French culture by exploring nude. For the past four years (2004 to 2007) I had practiced the term "integration and women” exploring works of Pierre Bonnard, Henri Matisse and Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Currently l focus for the next four years (2008 to 2011) " integration and women” to Nigerian  terms like Fulani woman, Mama Kofo,Mama Put, Female dancers ,Aghoho Mmuo ...
